Dinner

This gull found itself a tasty treat for dinner.

Watching the sunset

This eagle was sitting on its favorite perch, watching the sun go down.

Harlequin Group Shot

These harlequin ducks were hanging out near the Keystone Ferry Terminal in Washington state.

Sunshine at last!

This harlequin was enjoying the sun as much as I was!

Calling Harrier

This Northern Harrier allowed my close approach and was calling periodically.

Harrier Portrait

The same harrier poses quietly.

Heron on a log

Herons are plentiful here in Washington but I never tire of trying to capture a new pose. I liked this one on the log.

Another heron!

This time on a rock. :)

OK, how about more herons?

It's about that time again! Herons should be nesting by the end of February. These two are exchanging a stick the one on the right just brought in.

Helping out.

The heron on the right watches carefully as the stick is added to the nest.

Juvenile Bald Eagle

Sometimes birds will just sit and let you walk right up to them - not often, but sometimes! That was the case with this bald eagle. I think he was enjoying the sun too much to move.

Keystone Shrike

This juvenile northern shrike was looking for a meal on the Keystone spit in Washington state.

Almost full....

Another Moon

Version 2 of the same moonrise.

Red Tailed Hawk

Here's looking at you.

Greater Yellowlegs

After years of trying I'm finally getting some decent images of these guys!
